SFC Dave Grass Jr

A Company, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, 1951

Prof. Kenneth Grass, Life Assoc 2086, would like to communicate with anyone who might have known his father, SFC Dave Grass Jr., who was with A CO from January 1951 until he was wounded in March, and then KIA on April 20, 1951 near Kalmal Myon.

Dave has copies of the morning reports all the way from January 1951, until he turned up on the last one on May 5th when he was reported KIA.

The Army recorded SFC Grass was KIA on 20 April, but the Chinese Spring Offensive began 22 April.

Dave says: "I've heard that my dad had to have been KIA on the 22nd, but others, like former 24th ID Historian, SFC Joe Sweeney said they remember the action was on the 20th. I'm looking into that also."

Now 63 and a Full Professor at the University of Tulsa, Ken is searching for "heroes” who may have served with his father.

Anyone who might have known SFC Dave Grass, please contact Ken at:
